Valley View University Inks MoU with the Democratic Republic of Congo

In a significant partnership that could foster academic and cultural ties between Ghana and the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Congolese Consulate in Ghana has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Valley View University.

The Memorandum of Understanding includes provisions for student and faculty exchange programs.

This would allow students from Valley View University to study in Congolese institutions and vice versa, providing both parties with exposure to different academic environments and cultural experiences.

Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Congo to Ghana, Jeanette Nyakeru held the view that the Memorandum of Understanding will bring both nations together in the spirit of Pan-Africanism, co-operation, and shared progress.

She says, “the collaboration we are cementing today goes beyond just education; it represents a shared commitment to the future of Africa. As we continue to build partnerships like this, we are not only investing in the future of Africa as a whole. Through unity and collaboration, we can achieve the dream of our founding leaders. A peaceful prosperous and united continent.”

Pro-Vice Chancellor of Valley View University, Professor Winfred Ofoe Larkotey who applauded the initiative also touched on how it will deeply satisfy and mutually benefit both parties stating that, “this partnership will create the exposure to international faculty as well as students while creating career opportunities being access to internships and job opportunities both here and outside. This will also foster global citizenship and raise the need for networking.”

Honorary Consul of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ngeleka Dimata expressed delight over the deal which opened a new era of Congo-Ghana partnership through education and unity. He says, “let this be the first of many such partnerships, not just between the DRC and Ghana, but across all African nations. Let us work together, as one united continent, to lift our people and create a legacy of progress that will stand the test of time.

The ceremony successfully ended after both parties signed the memorandum of understanding signifying a deeply satisfying and mutually beneficial partnership.

The cordial relations that exist between Ghana and the Democratic Republic of Congo is deeply rooted in the bonds of friendship and co-operation spearheaded by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and Patrice Lumumba.
