The Kpone Municipal Assembly on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, has cut sod for the construction of a district office for the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
The construction of the NHIS office is expected to enhance healthcare services in the municipality by providing a dedicated facility for health insurance operations. With this, residents will no longer travel long distances only to register and renew their health insurance cards.
According to the municipal leaders, the new office will serve as a modern facility to improve access to health insurance services for residents, reduce congestion at existing offices, and enhance the efficiency of service delivery.

Speaking at the event, the Municipal Chief Executive, Samuel Tetteh Quarshie, emphasized that the project reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare financing and ensuring that every resident can easily access affordable healthcare under the National Health Insurance Scheme.
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for the area, Joseph Akuert Tettey, assures residents that many of such facilities are underway for the community and that President Mahama is deeply concerned about the development of Kpone.

“President Mahama and the NDC has Kpone Katamanso at heart and I can assure you that more development is coming to us,” Hon. Tettey assures.
The colorful ceremony brought together officials from the Municipal Assembly, representatives from the NHIS, traditional authorities, and community members.
The project is slated for completion within eight months and will be carried out by Handosky International Limited.
