All Regional Games: Asamoah Gyan Postpones Event To 2025

Former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan has postponed his talent-discovering sporting competition dubbed “All-Regional Games” to next year, 2025.

The event which was launched in July 2024, was initially scheduled to commence this year through to next year (2024-2025).

It is aimed at discovering sporting talent across the country with trials already underway to select the best athletes.
Unfortunately, Gyan released a statement to announce the postponement of the event, saying it would allow them “to build an even bigger and more impactful event.”

The event tasked the various regions to identify their top sportsmen and women via trials after which selected athletes between the age of 18 to 23 will compete against their counterparts from other regions.

There are nine sports disciplines: Football, Boxing, Volleyball, Athletics, Basketball, Tennis, Table Tennis, E-sports, and Arm-wrestling.

The statement continued: “The All Regional Games remains dedicated to its mission of identifying and developing athletes who can proudly represent Ghana on the international stage.”

“To our registered athletes, rest assured that your data remains secure, and you will be given priority for the 2025 edition. New athletes will also be welcomed, with the same rigorous regional trials in place to ensure fair selection and representation.”

Prior, Asamoah Gyan was appointed chairman of the Youth and Sports sub-committee for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) manifesto team in February this year, a move he seeks to leverage for the All Regional Games.

However, Gyan later renounced his membership in the NPP to focus on humanitarian work adding that he had not “been fair to the youth and the people of Ghana.”

A new date for next year’s event is expected to be announced soon.
