#ALLIANCE The British Broadcasting Corporation (#BBC) reports that a credible survey has revealed that a majority of the people of Togo see the formation of the Alliance of Sahel States as justified. The report says that 65% of Togolese do not think that the Economic Community of West African States (#ECOWAS) serves their interest.
It is significant that a majority of the people of Togo would prefer their country to join the Alliance rather than remain in ECOWAS. These findings can certainly not be ignored by the leaders of ECOWAS who have been plotting to subvert the Sahel States. There are very strong indications that the people of West Africa and beyond want to build a new Africa free from colonial and neo-colonial bondage.
One of the vestiges of our enslavement remains the presence of foreign military bases on our soil and it is time to dismantle them.
