Former Health Minister and Chairman of the NDC Health Manifesto Committee, Professor Alex Kwaku Danso-Boafo has decried the country’s slow pace of development.
His disclosure comes on the sidelines of an event organized by the NDC Professionals Forum aimed at proffering achievable solutions to them.
Ghana which attained independence on March 6, 1957 has been described as a bastion of democracy and an oasis of peace.
In spite of these impressive credentials, the country is still grappling with a myriad of problems ranging from cedi depreciation, youth unemployment, poor sanitation and the menace of Galamsey which has ravaged farmlands, destroyed waterbodies and eroded the health and longevity of the citizenry.
Delivering a speech on behalf of former President John Mahama at a dialogue aimed at proffering solutions to crisis bedeviling the health sector, Chairman of the party’s Health Manifesto Committee Professor Alex Kwaku Danso-Boafo bemoaned the country’s slow pace of development.
He further admonished Ghanaians to give utmost priority to their health and longevity to avert a catastrophe in the foreseeable future.
