The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the release of funds to all Senior High Schools (SHS) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTS) across the country to cover the cost of the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) practicals.
The move, according to GES, is aimed at ensuring that all schools are adequately resourced for the upcoming practical examinations. The released funds will cover the provision of necessary materials and essential resources required to conduct the practicals smoothly.
In a press statement signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at GES, the Service emphasized its commitment to reducing the financial burden on parents and guardians, while allowing students to concentrate fully on their academic preparation.
“With the release of the funds, GES seeks to facilitate a smooth and well-coordinated examination process that enables students to focus on their academic work, while relieving parents and guardians of any such financial burden,” the statement read.
GES also issued a strong reminder to regional, district, and school authorities to ensure that the funds are applied strictly for their intended purpose. The Service pledged to actively monitor how the funds are utilized to maintain transparency, accountability, and the integrity of the examination process.
“The Management will continue to monitor the utilisation processes to ensure compliance and to maintain high standards in the administration of the examination,” the statement added.
The Ghana Education Service expressed appreciation to all stakeholders for their continued support in promoting quality education and reaffirmed its commitment to creating an environment that fosters student success across the country.
