Gov’t Must Ensure Smooth Transport System To Boost Economy- Dr. Valentin Mensah

Chartered accountant and corporate governance expert, Dr. Valentin Kwasi Mensah as reacted to the just ended state of the nations addressed read by the President on the floor of parliament on February, 27th 2026

Dr. Mensah urged the current government to implement practical measures to enhance the transport sector in order to improve the delivery of goods and services and boost Ghana’s agriculture sector and economy.

Delivering the 2026 State of the Nation Address in Parliament, President John Dramani Mahama announced that Ghana’s economy has crossed the $100 billion mark for the first time in the nation’s history, a milestone expected to position the country among Africa’s largest and fastest-growing economies.

According to him, growth has been recorded across all major sectors of the economy, including agriculture, industry, services, and digital innovation.

Taking his turn on the recent address, a chartered accountant cum corporate governance expert, Dr. Valentin Kwasi Mensah acknowledge government’s effort at reviving Ghana’s economy and called for pragmatic measures to enhance our transport sector to accelerate economic growth.
