Hospitals in Nkwanta South has been closed down due to renewed conflict at the area

Nkwanta South municipal hospital and St Joseph hospital, the two main hospital in Nkwanta South which are found in Nkwanta township workers have all run away.
This happened because of the renewed conflict that lead to many deaths and injuries.

David Amenudzi who is the secretary of Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwife Association at Nkwanta South municipal stated in an interview that all the nurses and midwives of Nkwanta St. Joseph hospital have all run away.

According to him the health workers left because of the conflict in Nkwanta. He said most of the workers rented their house in town and the town is not safe and their lives have been threaten several times.

Mr. Amenudzi added that all the wards have been closed down and they are not ready to see to anyone until the conflict stop.

He also said he will speak to the chairman of the association for them to make sure all health workers are well protected in and outside the municipality.

Samali Abdul Razak a broadcast journalist, have also been to the Nkwanta South municipal hospital and it has also been closed down, most of the wards such as emergency ward, children’s ward, male and female wards, and many more, have been closed with padlocks.

The workers are calling on the government to see to the end of Nkwanta conflict.
