The Ministry of Labour, Jobs and Employment has entered into a strategic partnership with UAE-based CG Technical Services FZ-LLC to roll out the Ghana Youth Technical Training Initiative, a programme aimed at equipping thousands of young people with internationally recognized vocational skills.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Dr. Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment, and Solomon Daniel Amarh Laryea, who represented CG Technical Services CEO Charles Reynolds.

Under the agreement, more than 3,800 young Ghanaians will receive training and certification annually in areas such as electrical installation, plumbing, refrigeration and air conditioning, masonry, fire and safety (NEBOSH-certified), and hospitality services.
Addressing the signing ceremony, Dr. Pelpuo said the initiative is part of government’s wider efforts to tackle unemployment through innovative public-private partnerships.
“This programme reflects our commitment to addressing youth unemployment by preparing young Ghanaians not only for opportunities within the 24-hour economy but also for global labour markets,” he stated.

Speaking on behalf of CG Technical Services, Mr. Laryea described the partnership as a game-changer for Ghana’s workforce.
“By providing internationally recognized skills, this initiative opens pathways to global employment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable growth. It is about positioning Ghanaian youth to thrive both locally and abroad,” he noted.

The four-year programme will leverage public-private partnerships and integrate the Boafo ATS recruitment platform to link graduates directly to employers in Ghana, the GCC region, the UK, and other international markets.
Officials say the agreement represents a major step in aligning Ghana’s youthful workforce with both domestic needs and the growing global demand for skilled labour.
