Minority Opposes VAT Increment; Proposes Expenditure Cuts To Facilitate Revenue Generation

The Minority in Parliament have made known their resolve to reject the 2.5% increment in the Value Added Tax proposed in the 2023 budget statement.

According to the Caucus, the government can achieve the expected revenue generation included in the increment in VAT by cutting down on its expenditure hence in light of the country’s economic downturn, it has become imperative for the government to alleviate the plight of Ghanaians.
