Nkwanta South, a municipality located in the Oti region of Ghana, has been plagued by unrest and conflict in recent years. This has led to loss of lives and property, hindering the progress and development of the area.
In light of this, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Joseph Antwi Awal, is calling on the public to join hands in supporting the Nkwanta peace calling agenda.
In a recent statement, Hon. Joseph Antwi expressed his concern over the lack of involvement of the residents whenever there is an activity in the area. He emphasized that this is not a conducive way to maintain peace and called for the community to come together and support the government’s efforts in promoting peace and stability in Nkwanta South.
Hon Joseph Antwi Awal Stated that, under the leadership of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, the Government of Ghana has made it a top priority to maintain peace and security in the country. This includes conflict resolution and preventive measures in areas like Nkwanta South.
Hon MCE said, With the help of the residents, the government’s efforts can be strengthened and sustained for the greater good of the community.
The Nkwanta South MCE also highlighted the importance of embracing peace for the advancement of the municipality.
He emphasized that without peace, development cannot thrive. The constant disruptions and unrest have hindered the progress of the area and it is the responsibility of every individual to contribute towards the restoration of peace.
Hon. Joseph Antwi Awal Stated, It is also worth noting that Nkwanta South has immense potential for growth and development, with its rich natural resources and strategic location. However, this potential can only be fully realized in an environment of peace and stability.


According to the MCE, it is crucial for everyone to play their part in promoting and maintaining peace in the municipality.
The call for support from the MCE is a wake-up call to all residents of Nkwanta South.
Hon Joseph Antwi Awal added that, this is not a task that the government can achieve on its own, it requires the active involvement and commitment of the community.
He said, It is time for the people to put aside their differences and come together as one to build a peaceful and prosperous Nkwanta South.
In conclusion, the Nkwanta South MCE, Hon. Joseph Antwi Awal, has urged the public to support the peace calling agenda for the betterment of the municipality. It is a collective responsibility to maintain peace and stability, and with the support of the community, Nkwanta South can become a shining example of peace and development in Ghana.
