Ghana’s Yussif Basigi has been appointed by Tanzanian giants Simba Queens as the new head coach of the club.

The Ghanaian gaffer left his home country’s Women’s Premier League side, Hasaacas Ladies, to join the Tanzanian club after putting pen to paper in a one-year contractual agreement.

In 2013, Basigi led Hasaacas to their first league title in his first year at the club, beating Fabulous Ladies in the final.

He subsequently won the league four more times in his stay at the club.

Basigi won the inaugural edition of the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) B Women’s Champions League.

He also led Hasmal Ladies to the final of the first edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League which was hosted in Egypt.

With this record of experience, the Tanzanian side aim to leverage the expertise of the 52-year-old to continue their dominance in the domestic league and make strides on the continent.
