Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbui Afede XIV has described the National Democratic Congressโ 24-hour economic policy as a sure way of readying Ghanaโs economy for export.
Speaking at a durbar of Chiefs in the Volta Regional capital, Ho, the traditional leader cum businessman lauded the policy while expressing optimism about its efficacy in mitigating unemployment.
โAs someone who believes in hardwork, I believe that this (the 24-hour economy) is what we need, and it is obvious that the application of this policy in the manufacturing sector can indeed be a game-changerโ, Togbui said.
The paramount Chief who is also the bankroller for Ghanaian football powerhouse Accra Hearts of Oak also emphasised that the 24 hour economic policy will be pivotal to the realisation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Speaking on the expansion of employment, Togbui Afede bemoaned the high unemployment situation in the country while noting that the 24-hour economy will help mitigate it. โThe factory that runs for 8 hours, 1 shift will now run 24 hours, 3 shift and that will increase the factoryโs labour force in three foldsโ.
He further called on all Ghanaians to support the policy as it will immensely help in making the Ghanaian economy better.
