Head Coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Aboubakar Ouattara, has lamented the team’s defeat to Bibiani Gold Stars in the ongoing 2024/2025 Ghana Premier League.
Ouattara expressed his frustration about the team’s loss in a post-match interview after his side lost 1-0 to Gold Stars at the University of Ghana Stadium.
“The reaction of the fans is normal. We understand, when things don’t go well, the reaction is like that. Today, to be frank, that defeat is difficult and it’s not easy to accept for the fans, for us for the players and we ask them to continue to follow the team.”
After conceding in the 69th minute, Hearts fortunately earned an opportunity to clear the deficit in the 75th minute through a spot kick but Issah Hamza’s penalty delivery could not trouble the visitors’ goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi.
The shot stopper beautifully parried away the firmly struck attempt, a save that won him the Man of the Match Award.
The defeat brings Hearts of Oak’s loss-tally to three, eight matches into the season.
On the contrary, the victory earned Bibiani Gold Stars their first win away from home.
The result also saw Hearts sinking to the 12th spot on the league table after three draws and a win hitherto. They take on Medeama in their next game on November 1 in Tarkwa.
