Member of Parliament for Wa West, Peter Lanchene Toobu believes that the country’s current economic outlook poses a serious security threat to the public due to the rising cost of living hence raised concerns about government’s domestic debt exchange program.
He therefore called for an immediate resolution to the country’s economic woes by government to avert this threat.
The Finance Minister at a meeting earlier today with the Ghana Individual Bondholders Forum has disclosed that scrapping of domestic debt exchange program is not an option for government in the fight to curb the current economic woes of the country. This the group fear that the modality may bring untold economic hardship to the country and would potentially make their bonds worthless.
