Executive Director of the Institute for Development and Economic Research, Dr. Felix Larry Essilfie has responded to 2025 Budget presented by the Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson.
According to him, government’s recent decision to abolish nuisance taxes and introduce fiscal policies like free sanitary pads and free admission for first-year students is seen as a positive step.
The Development Economist also entreated government to optimize limited resources, reduce costs, and improve efficiency to foster sustainable development in Ghanaian lives.
“Before the Budget I was suspecting that, the budget when read will actually confirm the aspiration of Ghanaians; that the betting tax, the e- levy, emission taxes which we all calling that they have to be scrapped, the budget actually did justice to that.” He said.
