President of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association Perpetual Ofori- Ampofo, has reiterated the need for women to receive essential support.
Delivering a commemorative speech at an event to climax this year’s International Women’s Day, she intimated that equipping and empowering them to contribute their quota would equally sustain economic growth and accelerate national development.
International Women’s Day which falls on March 8th is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural. and political achievements of women.
It also focuses on issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women.
As part of efforts to climax this year’s edition, the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association of Ghana held themed: “Give to gain”: The Role of Giving in fostering Gender Equality Leading to collective advancement where when women thrive, we all Rise.”

The occasion was graced by dignitaries including the Founder and Executive Chairperson of the Young African Women Congress, Daniel Osei Tuffuor, Professor of Centre for Health Policy and Implementation Research at the University and Allied Sciences, Margaret Gyapong, Founder of Klicks Africa Foundation, Mary Amoah Kuffuor and others
