The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced a major facilitation measure for attendees of the upcoming Diaspora Summit 2025, offering free visas to all registered participants. The Summit, scheduled for 19–20 December 2025 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), is expected to host a diverse gathering of Africans and people of African descent from across the globe.

The initiative follows a pledge made by the Minister for Foreign Affairs during the event’s media launch, reaffirming Ghana’s commitment to strengthening ties with the global African community. According to the Ministry, the decision reflects the spirit of Pan-African solidarity, ensuring that cost and administrative barriers do not hinder participation in discussions aimed at fostering cooperation, unity, and long-term partnerships.

Prospective participants are encouraged to visit the nearest Ghana Embassy, High Commission, or Consulate in their country of residence to obtain their free visa before traveling to Ghana. Only individuals who have completed the Summit registration process are eligible. The Ministry emphasized that online registration, accessible at www.diasporasummitghana.org, remains open until Monday, 8 December 2025.

In its announcement, the Ministry also clarified visa exemptions based on Ghana’s reciprocal Visa Waiver Agreements. Nationals of several countries can enter Ghana without a visa under these arrangements.

Countries with Full Passport Visa Exemptions include:
Barbados, Bahamas, Dominica, Mauritius, Seychelles, South Africa, Kenya, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago, Singapore, São Tomé and Príncipe, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Jamaica, Rwanda, Morocco, Guyana, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Malawi, and Grenada.

Countries with Diplomatic, Official, and Service Passport Exemptions include:
Brazil, Colombia, China, Cuba, Germany, Sudan, Türkiye, Namibia, Hungary, Iran, India, Equatorial Guinea, St. Kitts and Nevis, Suriname, Venezuela, Malta, and the United Arab Emirates.

With preparations underway, the Ministry expressed its enthusiasm in welcoming delegates to Accra, urging all who have registered to proceed promptly to Ghana’s diplomatic missions for visa issuance.

The Diaspora Summit 2025 is expected to offer a vital platform for reconnecting the global African community, strengthening cross-border networks, and advancing collaborative development initiatives.
