Parliamentary Select Committee Lauds Zoomlion For Tackling Sanitation Challenges.

As the rains begins begin, Parliamentary Select Committee on Sanitation and Water Resources, has lauded Zoomlion Ghana Limited for its outstanding contributions to improving sanitation infrastructure and waste management in the country.

This was witnessed when the Committee touredthe company’s Accra Composite and Recycling Plant (ACARP) here in Accra, on Wednesday,April 23.
“I am truest impressed by the level of investment that has gone into these major companies” Hon Oti Bless told journalists after the tour.

The Committee’s Chairman, Hon. Oti Bless, who led the visit, also said the tour forms part of the Committee’s oversight responsibility to identify practical solutions to Ghana’s current sanitation problems. He advocated for the establishment of a dedicated sanitation fund for sanitation improvement.
Arguing that a fixed percentage of the sanitation and energy level should be channelled into sanitation improvement.

On his part, Chairman of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Dr. Joseph Siaw-Agyapon, lamented government’s failure to meet its financial obligations to service delivery.

The state currently owes Zoomlion over 1.2 billion Ghana cedis in arrears. Mr. Agyapon added that the Finance Ministry has earmarked 13billion Ghana cedis in the 2025 budget to settle debts owed to sanitation service providers and expect swift action on that to help them improve in their service delivery.
