Promoting A Cleaner Environment And Public Health In Nkwanta South

Government – sanctioned sanitation days. In Ghana, the government has implemented initiatives to promote cleanliness and sanitation, particularly in urban areas. One such initiative is the National Sanitation Day, observed on the first Saturday of every month. On this day, citizens are encouraged to participate in clean-up exercise, disposing of wast properly and maintaining a clean environment.

The Member of Parliament for Nkwanta South, Hon. Geoffrey Kini, in collaboration with the Municipal Chief Executive, has indeed taken a proactive step by instructing citizens to participate in a clean-up exercise. This initiative aligns with the National Sanitation Day observed on the first Saturday of every month.

By working together, the government and citizens can maintain a clean environment, promote public health, and enhance the overall well-being of the community.


In an interview with Samali Abdul Razak, a broadcast journalist, Hon Geoffrey Kini who is the member of parliament for Nkwanta South, urged citizens to keep their surroundings, shops, and workplaces clean. He also emphasized the importance of adding by the rules to prevent diseases.

The MP expressed confidence that Nkwanta South will recover and develop with peace and cooperation.

Municipal chief executive, Hon.Joseph Antwi Awal, advised citizens to abide by the rules and regulations set by the sanitation taskforce. He again warned that anyone who flouts the law will face punishment.

Hon. Joseph Antwi Awal called on traditional authorities to support the cleanliness initiative.
