Residents of Kankye Akurah a community in the Nkwanta South municipality of the Oti Region are calling on government to connect the community with electricity.
According to them, all efforts to get authorities to get the community connected has proven futile.
Kankye Akurah is one of the oldest farming communities in the Nkwanta South Municipality with a population of over 600 people.
For residence in the community, their biggest headache is that for several years they have been living in the dark whiles they are yet to be connected to the national grid.
Speaking to Pan African News, a resident, Npomba who is a student expressed frustration about the situation and pleaded with authorities to as a matter of urgency connect the community to electricity.
According to him the situation is affecting teaching and learning in the community.
Another resident, Godwin also disclosed that all efforts to get authorities to connect the community has proven futile.
He said, after several polls were erected in the community for the connection of the light, the work has been abandoned leaving the community in the dark.
