President of Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Henry Bessa Simons, has touted the outstandingly excellent accomplishments of the country’s first Premier and President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
Delivering an address at the Musiki Pan-Afrikana Festival held in honour of Ghana’s Founder, he further urged Ghanaians to make judicious use of the country’s resources to benefit the next generation.
September 21, is the birthday of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first President. Widely touted as the Black Star of Pan-Africanism and Founder of Modern Ghana, he spearheaded the country’s liberation from British colonial rule on March 6, 1957.
As part of activities to commemorate his one hundred and fifteenth birthday, the Musiki Pan Afrikana Festival has being held amidst pomp and pageantry.
It was graced by some prominent persons in the creative arts industry such as Amandzeba, King Ayisoba, Bessa Simons and others.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, President of Musicians Union of Ghana, Henry Bessa Simons said celebrating the man who championed African unity felt so special to him.
“We have everything we are not using it, but in the name of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah we had Tema Motorway, We had Akosombo dam, we want to know the new things that people are going to bring he said.”
Mr. Simons prayed that every citizen of Ghana and the entire continent of Africa will change their mindset and lift the African unity higher for the better.
He also urged the teeming youth to desist from misconducting themselves before, during and after this year’s general elections.
Music Manager for Amandzeba Nat Brew, Emmanuel Mensah Tetteh shared with the news team the brain behind the celebration.
Ghanaian hip-pop musician, Kwesi Tardi, and Ola similarly shared same.
