Elfsborg’s Michael Baidoo Earns Late Black Stars Call-Up

Elfsborg’s Michael Baidoo has been added to Otto Addo’s doubleheader squad after a late called-up to the Black Stars.

The attacking midfielder is one of the four players to replace injured players included in the initial 25-man squad including Arsenal’s midfielder Thomas Partey and Los Angeles Galaxy winger Joseph Paintsil.

Other confirmed injured players who will miss the doubleheader include Feyenoord’s Ibrahim Osman and Samsunspor defender Kingsley Schindler.

Meanwhile, AZ Alkmaar’s Ibrahim Sadiq also got called up for the crucial games.

Michael Baidoo registered 10 goals and four assists in 24 games for Elfsborg in the 2024 Swedish league.

The 25-year-old scored one goal in two appearances after netting three assists and three goals in eight games in the Europa League Qualifying Round.

The Stars will play against Sudan on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at the Accra Sports Stadium (16:00 GMT) and Monday, October 14 (13:00 GMT) in Benghazi, Libya.

With just a point from two games, the Black Stars are heading into Thursday’s game hoping to revive their qualifying chances.
