President John Dramani Mahama has nominated thirty three individuals to serve as Municipal and District Executives (MMDCEs) for the Estern Region of Ghana.
This nomination was signed and announced in a press statement dated on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 by the Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religuous Affairs Minister, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim.
According to the statement, the nomination are in line with the constitution and legal provisions guiding local governance.
“The President, in accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(I) of the local Governance Act,2016 (Act936), as amended has nominitated the attached list of persons for appointment to the office of Sistrict Chief Executive, pending approval by their respective District Assemblies, “ it stated.
The nomination forms part of Presidents Mahama’s broader efforts to strengthen local governance and accelerate development at the local level.
The importance role of District Chief Executives can’t be undermine as they oversee the development initiatives in their respective jurisdictions.
