Ghana Condemns Israeli Attack on Qatar, Affirms Solidarity

Accra, September 10, 2025 – The Government of Ghana has strongly condemned the recent Israeli airstrike on the sovereign State of Qatar, describing it as an unprovoked attack that has resulted in casualties, the loss of lives, and significant destruction of property.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the airstrikes constitute a clear violation of international law and an affront to Qatar’s sovereignty. The government further noted that such actions undermine ongoing efforts to secure peace between Israel and Palestine.

President John Dramani Mahama, on behalf of the people of Ghana, expressed solidarity with the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the Qatari people during what he described as “difficult times.”

Ghana commended Qatar for its tireless commitment to finding a lasting diplomatic solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and urged that this latest incident should not be allowed to derail those efforts.

The statement reaffirmed Ghana’s position on the importance of upholding international law and pursuing peaceful resolution of conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy.
