The suspects, Nana Ampadu, Stephen Tetteh, Yaw Dalame, Samuel Amoah, Kwame Oppong, Francis Oduom, Owusu Asare, Atta Kwame, Apiyanga Emmanuel, Kojo Montanakito, Maxwell Owusu, Obofo Vincent, and Soogal Fataw were arrested on 19th May 2025 as part of the sustained anti-galamsey operations in the area. Police destroyed over one hundred and twenty (120) Chanfang machines and confiscated six (6) motorbikes for evidential purposes. The suspects will be arraigned before the Tarkwa Circuit Court on Tuesday, 20th May 2025, to face the law.
