National Peace Council Director Paul Akonor visit three schools in Nkwanta South, namely Nkwanta Community Day Senior High Technical School, Yabobo Girls school and Nkwanta Senior High School. According to Mr. Paul Akonor the visit is about promoting none violence in schools. He said school must not take school laws into their hands and all students must obey the rules and regulations of their schools. Story by George Yawson Vineh The Ghana Police Service has intensified the fight against illegal mining through a series of intelligence-led operations, has arrested forty nine (49) individuals for engaging in illegal mining activities at various locations across the country. The operations according to police were carried out at Huniso, Wassa-Dadieso and Wassa-Gyapa in the Western Region; Akrokerri in the Ashanti Region; Dunkwa-On-Offin and Diaso in the Central Region; and the Awin river at Pankese and Akyem Akwadum in the Eastern Region. These coordinated operations, resulted in the retrieval of exhibits including various mining equipment. 29/05/25 The Ghana Police Service has promoted four (4) officers of the Western Central Regional Police Command for exhibiting diligence, professionalism, and dedication in the performance of their duty. The officers, No. 47459 G/Sgt. Fetus Gameli Kukuia, No. 52192 G/Cpl. Christian Asare, No. 52441 G/Cpl. Nicholas Kingsley Amoah, and No. 59947 G/Const. Adam Yakubu, have been promoted to the ranks of Inspector, Sergeant, and Lance Corporal respectively. The event was a powerful platform to highlight government efforts to break longstanding taboos and remove barriers to girls’ education through the Free Sanitary Pad Initiative. The screening drew a cross-section of dignitaries, development partners, civil society leaders, and community members, united in their resolve to tackle menstrual inequality in Ghana. Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Vice President of the Republic, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyeman, Madam Betty Mould-Iddrisu reaffirmed
