FIFA hires UEFA’s Dep. Gen. Sec. As Its New COO

The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has welcomed Kevin Lamour as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective November 1st.

The French-Swiss national who previously serves as the Deputy General Secretary of UEFA, boasts of approximately two decades of work-experience in football administration.

Aside his top-notch professional attributes and knowledge about the global football landscape, Kevin Lamour is held in high esteem in the football world.

His duties as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be to oversee key FIFA divisions, including Audit & Advisory, Communications, Finance, Legal & Compliance, Member Associations, People, Technology & Operations, and Social Responsibility & Education.

Having worked at the UEFA in two spells since 2007, the 44-year-old’s administration experience will augment FIFA’s strength and fortify its operational capacity.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kevin to the team. His vast experience and solid reputation make him an excellent addition to our leadership. We are confident that he will play a crucial role in driving FIFA forward,” FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström said.

FIFA expressed its profound gratitude to UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin and General Secretary Theodore Theodoridis for their support and for facilitating a smooth transition.

Kevin Lamour’s move to FIFA reunites him with the association’s President Gianni Infantino and Secretary General Mattias Grafström, having worked together for several years at UEFA and on Infantino’s successful election campaign in 2016.
