President of the Scout and Guide Fellowship Ghana, Andrew Botchwey has entreated Ghanaians to put aside their differences and forge ahead in unity as a prerequisite for peaceful co-existence and harmonious living
Without peace, it will not be possible to achieve the levels of trust, cooperation and inclusiveness needed for societies to be resilient to shocks, manage disputes and adapt to changes in their environments.
In consonance with this, the Scout and Guide Fellowship Ghana have launched A Peace Gathering 2024 at the Press center here in Accra themed, “A Call to Unity: Fly the Flag for Peace” as the country heads the poll on December 7, 2024.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, President tof the scout and Guide Fellowship Ghana, Andrew Botchwey intimated that the initiative sought to foster peace and unity before, during and after this year’s elections.
He also admonished the teeming youth to eschew violence and desist from fomenting trouble ahead of the elections
Vice President for the Scout and Guide Fellowship, Seth Mensah Wutsika and the Ayawa Central constituency NDC Chairman, Harry Otu Hesse also shared similar concerns
The International Scouts and Guide Fellowship was established in 1953 by a joint collaboration agreement between World Association of Girl Guides and Scout (WAGGS) and (WOSM) World Organization of Scout Movement to be an umbrella organization for the Nation’s Youth Scouts and Girl Associations.
