National Secretary of the National Union of Tricycle Operators, Hafiz Hamza has admonished tricycle operators to embrace peace as the country heads to the polls on December 7, 2024.
Delivering an address at the investiture of leaders for the Association at Suhum, he further indicated that, peaceful co-existence and harmonious living was crucial to the growth of every society.
Without peace, it will not be possible to achieve the levels of trust, cooperation and inclusiveness needed for societies to be resilient to shocks, manage dispute and adapt to changes within their environment.
In a bid to sustain peace, before, during and after the country’s eighth general election, members of the National Union of Tricycle Operators Ghana have been entreated to desist from engaging in violence which could mar the conduct and smooth supervision of the electoral process.
This came to light at the inauguration of leaders for the association at Suhum in the Eastern Region. The event was graced by dignitaries including the New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary candidate for Suhum, Frank Asiedu Bekoe, and Founder of the Liberation of National Youth for Change, Dr. Agnes Ayisha and others.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, National Secretary of the National Union of Tricycle Operators in Ghana, Hafiz Hamza cautioned his members to refrain from perpetrating violence before, during and after the December 7 polls.
Moreso, the New Patriotic Party Parliamentary candidate for Suhum, Frank Asiedu Bekoe seized the opportunity to highlights his visions for the constituency and promised to address the grievances as well as improve the conditions for service for tricycle operator. Founder for the Liberation of National Youth for Change, Dr. Agnes Ayisha also pledged her unflinching support and assistance for the tricycle operators.
The National Union of Tricycle Operators Ghana affiliated to the Trades Union Congress seeks to establish a responsible union, sustaining riders filled with respect and commitment in the community.
