Elections expert and Executive Secretary to CSO, ‘Care Ghana’ David Kumi Addo says the internal wrangling of PNC is a private matter hence the warning letter by the electoral commission is worrying
This follows the decision by the party seeking the electoral commission to supervise its intended elections but the EC in response warned the party to resolve its issues or face permanent suspension.
According to the EC, the party will be suspended permanently if it doesn’t resolve its internal wrangling.
The EC said until the crisis is resolved it will have nothing to do with the political party.
The election management body in a letter signed by a Deputy Chairman of the Commission, Samuel Tettey, has decided to suspend all engagements with you’re the Party until the leadership crisis is resolved following a request by the National Chairman of the PNC for the Commission not to supervise the purported internal elections as agreed in a roadmap made public in a statement by General Secretary Janet Asana Nabla. With the roadmap, the PNC had planned to start its reorganization toward the 2024 elections in October.
Executive Secretary of ‘Care Ghana’ has describe the act by EC as worrying says the EC has no business in the party’s internal wrangling.
But the 2020 flagbarrier of the party Samson Asaki Awingobit in conversation with George Yawson Vineh, disagrees with the notion and pleaded with the current executives of the party to bury differences for the betterment of the party.
Party faithful await in the coming days the fate of the party as whether the executives will listen to the advises and resolve the wrangling of the party to enable them be there third force Ghanaians are looking for in this hardship in the Nana Addo governance.
