The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Tatale-Sanguli, Mary Tagba, has received national commendation for her outstanding leadership in urban development, adaptability, and social infrastructure, placing the Tatale-Sanguli District firmly in the national spotlight.

In a citation issued by the World Diplomatic Federation (WODIF), Madam Tagba was praised for her unwavering commitment to improving the lives of residents through innovative urban planning, social infrastructure development, and responsive local governance. The citation notes that her leadership has significantly enhanced community resilience and development outcomes in the district, while contributing meaningfully to Ghana’s overall growth agenda.

As a result of these contributions, Mary Tagba has been selected to receive the prestigious “Adaptability & Social Infrastructure Advocate Honor.” The award recognizes leaders who demonstrate practical solutions to development challenges at the grassroots level and who exemplify inclusive and people-centered governance.

The award ceremony will take place on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, under the theme “Rebuilding Trust, Restoring Hope: A New Era of Governance in Ghana.” The event will highlight excellence in public service and governance during the Fourth Republic and is expected to attract high-ranking government officials, traditional leaders, diplomats, and development partners.

The recognition of the Tatale-Sanguli DCE coincides with Ghana’s preparations for its 69th Independence Anniversary, reinforcing the importance of effective local leadership in national development. According to a directive from the Ghana Education Service, Independence Day celebrations will be held across all districts, municipalities, and metropolises on March 6, 2026, with the national climax scheduled at the forecourt of Jubilee House.

Observers say the honour bestowed on Mary Tagba reflects growing national appreciation for district-level leadership that delivers tangible results. Community members in Tatale-Sanguli have described her administration as proactive, development-driven, and deeply connected to local needs.

The award ceremony will see honourees presented with a ceremonial gown, trophy, medal, badge, citation, and certificate,  a symbolic recognition of service, integrity, and impact.

For many residents of Tatale-Sanguli, the honour represents not just personal recognition for the DCE, but a validation of the district’s development journey under her leadership.
