Just as delegates of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) are set to elect their national executives come December 17, 2022, Pan African Television Newsroom highlights some of the contentious positions like the General Secretary position.
The three aspirants vying for the position of General Secretary are outgoing Director of Elections, Elvis Kofi Afriyie Ankrah, outgoing Deputy General Secretary Dr. Peter Kofi Boamah Otokunor and former Minister for Food and Agriculture Franklin Fifi Fiavi Kwetey. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah believes he will win the contest because his accomplishments as Director of Elections and excellent human relationship has no match.
Fifi Kwetey also thinks that he won’t have come to contest the position if the incumbent performed. The outgoing Deputy General Secretary in charge of Operations and a first time aspirant is equally determined to emerge victorious. You will care to know that the current communication officer of the party is going unopposed. The incumbent Joshua Hamidu Akamba is still vying for the National Organizer, in that list is Henry Osei Akoto, Mahdi Mohammed Gibrill, Sidii Abubakari Musah, Solomon Yaw Nkansah, Chief Hamilton Biney Nixon and Joseph Yammin. BYTE: He also suggested that political parties should have some punitive measures to deal with persons who might cause mayhem during elections.
