Renowned Ghanaian journalist and social commentator Kwesi Pratt, Jnr has publicly refuted a circulating report that falsely claims he predicted Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s victory in the upcoming presidential election.
In a press statement issued from Shanghai, where he has been for over a month, he expressed his dismay at the fabricated report, which allegedly cited him appearing on Pan-African Television’s Morning Show.
“The report is completely false,” Pratt stated emphatically, explaining that his physical absence from Ghana made such an appearance impossible. He criticized the report as part of a “desperate attempt” by elements within the Bawumia campaign team to misrepresent his views.
The veteran journalist did not mince words in condemning the tactics employed by those he believes are behind the fabrication. “Those who think that outright lies, fabrications, and slander can win elections in Ghana must be living in a paradise reserved for the extremely foolish,” he said, underscoring his strong stance against dishonest political strategies.
He further clarified that he has made no prediction regarding the outcome of the presidential election, and strongly rejected any association with claims favoring Dr. Bawumia.
“I have not predicted victory for His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and will not do so. The facts on the ground point to a completely different outcome,” Pratt declared, asserting that only individuals blinded by dishonesty could deny the reality of the political landscape in Ghana.
