The President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II has called on the Electoral Commission to ensure that issues surrounding some missing names in the voter’s register are resolved before the upcoming election.

According to him, the recently ended voters’ registration exercise saw some misunderstandings including bloating of the register at various exhibition centres including Ho Central Constituency in the Volta Region.

The revered chief further expressed worry over how names of over two to three thousand voters were transferred from the register without their consent.

He has asked the Electoral Commission to furnish all the political parties contesting in the 2024 polls including the National Democratic Congress, New Patriotic Party, the People’s National Congress among others with the current register to avoid any confusion.

Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II is unhappy with the outcome of the 2020 election adding that the violence that broke out at Techiman South during last four year’s polls was uncalled for and should not have happened.

The President of the Bono Regional House chiefs could not fathom why shots were fired, allegedly by security officials, leading to the death of about six people with others injured.

He has appealed to the Electoral Commissioner, Mrs, Jean Adukwei Mensa, the security services and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to ensure free, fair and transparent election.

The Dormaahene further threatened to sue anyone who engages in electoral violence in the upcoming election.
