In his congratulatory message to the President-elect John Mahama, the Director of Communications for the Abossey-Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association of Ghana, Takyi Addo, highlighted some challenges hurting their operations as an Association
He urged the incoming administration to implement a flexible tax component for the business community in order to generate more revenue for the country when he assumes office.
“We have some challenges over the years, our spare parts business has gone down, and you can see the draconian taxes on spare parts issues are very bad”. Says Mr. Addo
“You see one challenge we have in Ghana is we don’t have control price, control market, everybody do whatever they want to do, now if the government reduce the import duty on spare parts or general goods we expect our members to also reduce their goods and services”. He said.
