The office of the President has unveiled a portrait image of President John Dramani Mahama which according to a statement released by the Office on Thursday, 9th January 2025 symbolises his leadership and dedication to the people of Ghana.
The image is intended to serve as a representation of national pride and unity, showing the values and aspiration of the country.
The statement signed by the acting spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu clarified that the government has not and will not contract any individual or organisation to produce frame versions of the portrait for mass distribution. Ministries, agencies, business and the general public are encourage to note this directive.
Thus move highlights the John and Jane administration’s commitment to transparency and the proper handling of official state symbols.
Opinion:
However, I also believe the move is to protect the public purse since the NDC heavily blamed the outgone Nana Addo and Bawumia’s government of mismanagement of the states finances in the run up to the December General election.
