General Secretary of the Construction and Building Materials Workers’ Union an affiliate of the Trades Union Congress, Richard Asamoah Mensah has sympathized with traders of Kantamanto Market following a devastating inferno that ravaged the facility on January 2, 2025.
Outlining his expectations following the inauguration of John Mahama as President, he also seized the opportunity to clarify some outstanding issues between their Association and three Chinese firms over a protracted dispute.
“It’s really unfortunate and I must say that we are really sorry for whatever has happen at Kantamanto Market, these are private individuals who have gone in for loans and working on their own to take care of their family with dependency loan on them; honestly is something we are really sympathizing with the traders.” He said.
