The Paramount Chief of the Dormaa Traditional Council, who also serves as the President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr. Agyemang Badu II, has expressed hopes in the establishment of a new office building for the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) in Dormaa Ahenkro to enhance access to DVLA services for the local population, following the commissioning of a temporary office one year ago.
During the sod-cutting ceremony, Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr. Agyemang Badu II extended his gratitude to the CEO of DVLA for establishing a permanent office in Dormaa Ahenkro. He noted that this new facility will significantly reduce travel expenses and the challenges associated with obtaining DVLA services for residents in and around Dormaa Ahenkro.
Osagyefo commended the Bono Regional Minister for his efforts in securing developmental initiatives for the Bono region, particularly in Dormaa Ahenkro, which includes the 24-hour economy market and the DVLA office, among other projects.
He emphasized that the ongoing changes in government reflect progress, and that traditional leaders, as partners in development, will continue to collaborate with the government to facilitate development for the people of Ghana.
Mr. Julius Neequaye Kotey, the Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), expressed his sincere appreciation to Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr. Agyemang Badu II for his generous contribution to the development of Ghana by providing the authority with land for its office structure at no cost.
He also extended his gratitude to Hon. Lawyer Joseph Addae Akwaboah, the Bono Regional Minister, as well as the Municipal Chief Executive and the Member of Parliament for Dormaa Central, Hon. Dr. John Kwame Adu Jack, for their unwavering support in making the establishment of a permanent DVLA office building in Dormaa Ahenkro a reality
Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboah, Regional Minister for Bono, stated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government has initiated numerous developmental projects in Ghana, particularly within the Bono Region, during its tenure of one year and seven months in office.
He highlighted that the Kyeremasu-Amasu-Gambia road, which serves as a vital connection between the Bono Region and the Ahafo Region, has been awarded to a contractor emphasizing that construction has commenced from Gambia towards the Bono Region, and the road is expected to be completed in a shorter period.
