An aspiring parliamentary candidate in the Kpandai Constituency, Jonas U. C. Chimsi has declared intention to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries ahead of the 2028 general elections, citing the need to address persistent developmental challenges in the area.

In a declaration of intent through a letter to Pan African Television, the aspirant expressed confidence in the campaign’s prospects, pointing to grassroots engagement and an estimated delegate album of 1,391 delegates across 151 branches and polling stations in the constituency.

The former student of Worawora Senior High School (WORASECAN) said groundwork had already begun towards the bid, with a focus on building support among party delegates and strengthening engagement with stakeholders across the constituency.
According to the aspirant, the decision to seek the party’s nomination is driven by concerns over inadequate basic infrastructure and essential social services affecting residents of Kpandai.

Among the major challenges identified are limited access to potable drinking water, poor telecommunications connectivity, deteriorating road networks, inadequate health facilities and insufficient educational infrastructure.

The aspirant said a parliamentary seat would provide an opportunity to advocate more strongly for the constituency at the national level and push for its development priorities to be reflected in national fiscal planning and budgetary allocations.

The declaration also appealed to key stakeholders, including potential financiers, advisers and trusted partners, to support the ambition. The aspirant indicated a willingness to brief interested stakeholders on the proposed campaign strategy and budget.
The move signals the beginning of preparations towards the NDC’s 2028 parliamentary primaries in Kpandai, although the outcome will depend on the party’s internal electoral process and the support of delegates.

The aspirant’s stated priorities place infrastructure, healthcare, education, potable water and telecommunications at the centre of the proposed political agenda, with a pledge to make the development needs of Kpandai a stronger part of national political and policy discussions.

Further details about the aspirant’s identity, campaign programme and proposed solutions to the constituency’s development challenges are expected to provide a clearer picture of the emerging bid.
