Campaign centres on grassrootsmobilization and a stronger role for resourceand logisitics mobilization for effective delivery
ACCRA, GHANA— David Selassie Anthony, popularly known as“DeAccra Mayor” or “Dee Mayor,” has declared his intention to contest the position of Deputy National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), placing grassroots mobilization and stronger participation by Constituency and Regional Organizers at the centre of his campaign.
He said the decision followed consultations with party members, organizers and supporters across the regions, and that he enters the contest to serve the structures that carry the party between elections.
His agenda focuses on strengthening the party’s grassroots structures, mobilizing supporters towards victory in the 2028 general elections, and creating greater opportunities for the grassroots to contribute meaningfully to the party and towards national development.

Mr Anthony’s campaign places particular emphasis on grassroots mobilization and on maintaining direct contact with party members and communities. His position is that stronger coordination between the grassroots and the national leadership is essential to building a more effective and inclusive party structure.
THE PRIORITIES
Grassroots structures. Mr Anthony said he would work to make the constituency and regional organizing layers functional rather than nominal— with clear responsibilities, regular contact and a route for their concerns to reach the national leadership.
The welfare of organizers. He said the people who give the party their time between elections are too often the last the party remembers, and that organizer welfare would be a standing item of his office rather than a seasonal promise.
Readiness for 2028. With preparations for the 2028 general elections expected to demand sustained organization, he said the contest for national party positions is an opportunity for aspirants to show how their leadership would translate into stronger mobilization and participation at the local level.
