SOGAKOPE MTTD LAUNCHES ROAD SAFETY CAMPAIGN AHEAD OF EASTER CELEBRATION The Tongu Divisional Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service led by D.S.P Olivia Turkson has embarked on a two-week road safety education campaign. The campaign which started on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, will cover major towns such as Sokpoe, Adidome, Akatsi, and Kpotame, all of which are along major highways in the Volta Region. The campaign will focus on the enforcement of the wearing of seat belts, adherence to road signs, and the regularization of documents such as drivers’ licenses, roadworthiness certificates, and insurance. Lectures have commenced at the university of Ghana Legon, following the suspension of the industrial action by the University Teacher’s Association of Ghana (UTAG). Pan African TV’s Akua Ababio was at the university’s campus to monitor the new development and has come through with this report. On n Monday, January 10, 2022, the University Teachers Association of Ghana began its industrial action to demand better conditions of service and a hike in salaries of lecturers. After more than a month of staying away from the lecture halls, members of the association arrived at a decision to suspend the strike following a court order. Majority of lecturers across some seven public universities in the country voted against the decision by UTAG’s national Executive Committee (NEC)

A four (4) year old girl, Edem Mawudor according to the Volta regional police command has met her untimely death after she was knocked down by an unknown motorist, whilst crossing the road last Thursday February 10, 2022. The victim, who was in the company of her friends could not catch up with the pace when crossing the road and was knocked down by a speeding vehicle killing her instantly at Kudzra a suburb of Kpando-Tafi. The Queen Mothers visits was to congratulate me and to express their support for me in particular and Agona East at large.
