President of the Ghana Journalist Association(GJA), Albert Kwabena Dumfour has inaugurated the Association’s statutory committee as per the dictate of the 2004 GJA constitution.
The inauguration took effect during the Association’s 77th Anniversary celebration at the British Council in Accra.
The National Executive of the Ghana Journalists Association, according to article 30, 31 and 32 of the association’s 2004 constitution reconstituted its statutory committee to support effective administration, professional development and the strategic growth of the Association.
Deputy British High Commissioner to Ghana, Chris Halliday, emphasized the need for collaboration to address rapid changes, including artificial intelligence and misinformation, affirming the UK’s commitment to supporting Ghana’s development and a free, independent media.
Director General of the National Communication Authority, Rev. Ing. Edmond Yirenkyi Fianko, emphasized the role of Journalism in delivering reliable information, scrutinizing power, representing diverse societal segments, and documenting the nation’s life credibly.
