Some Okada Riders at Apollonia in the Kpone Katamanso Constituency of the Greater Accra Region have threatened to boycott the December 7, 2024 elections if government fails to attend to their needs.

According to them, they will also stay away from all other political activities in the community ahead of the polls.

Speaking to Pan African News, they say, the devastating nature of roads in the area is affecting their business. A situation that is in turn having a toll on their means of livelihood.

“It seems they have neglected we the people of Apollonia community, so we will not vote if our roads are not fixed”, they stressed.

The aggrieved Okada riders further indicated that various governments made several promises to have their roads fixed but have not fulfilled those promises.

They have also expressed disappointment in successive governments for neglecting the people of Apollonia for so many years.

Touching on other challenges confronting the community, they lamented the lack of potable water and further appealed to government to as a matter of urgency come to their aid.
