Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Hon. Emelia Arthur has officially inaugurated the National Premix Fuel Committee (NPFC)
The minister highlighted the significant challenges faced by the marine artisanal sub-sector in accessing premix fuel, which is crucial for fisher operations.
She also said ministerial support will be provided to address emerging issues to facilitate the smooth implementation of the Premix Fuel Automation Project

The formation of this mandatory Committee in accordance with Regulation 4 of the National Premix Fuel Committee Regulations 2016 (L12233) is a direct response to improving the fisheries supply chain and addressing the operational disruptions for effective premix fuel administration. Strategic partnerships among key public and private stakeholders are critical to streamline operations and enhance the efficiency of premix fuel distribution and administration. Addressing the Press on the aforesaid statement, the Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Hon. Emelia Arthur has inaugurated eleven member committee chaired by Member of Parliament for South Dayi constituency, Hon. Rockson-Nelson Etse Kwami Dafeamekpor to facilitate smooth implementation of Premix fuel distribution in the industry.

She also acknowledge the hard work and investments of fisher folks and private sector players in contributing to food security and economic growth of Ghana.
She also said that Ministerial support would be provided to the Secretariat to centrally coordinate operations and reporting on the supply of premix fuel to the Landing Beach Committees in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. Hon. Emelia Arthur further charged and encouraged the committee to identify internal risk controls and institute appropriate control measures to eliminate corruption and abuse of the system.
