Agorve Motorbike Robbery Suspect, Eyram Botwe Sentenced To 15 Years Imprisonment. The accused who was put before the Sogakope Circuit court on January 25, 2022 on the charge of attempt to commit robbery, pleaded guilty to the offence and was convicted on his own plea. GCB Building At Nkwanta Escaped Inferno LOCAL NEWS by George Vineh Yawson - January 31, 2022November 12, 20240 The Nkwanta branch of the Ghana Commercial Bank escaped destruction after properties, including money, food staffs among other things got burnt in a house next to the financial institution. According to eyes’ account, it took the intervention of the community members to stop the fire from spreading to other buildings. Elikpelim Danyo is a victim and a wife to the owner of the burnt building. She said all her belongings got burnt including her business proceeds of about 5,000 Ghana cedis. According to Elikplim, she came back from Burkina Faso where she got her supply of tomatoes which will be retailed here in Ghana the day before the inferno. MP For Anyaa Sowutuom Calls For Unity Among Legislators LOCAL NEWS by George Vineh Yawson - January 30, 2022November 12, 20240 Member of Parliament for Anyaa Sowutuom Dickson Adomako Kissi has urged his colleagues from the NDC to support and endorse policies rolled out by government. Speaking to George Yawson Vineh the legislature says such measures are to be fully implemented this year will ease the burden of the citizenry. The medical doctor also expressed worry over attitude of legislators from the NDC who habitually opposed policies initiated to reverse the country’s dwindling fortunes. 65yrs Man Arrested For Illegal Possession Of Firearm LOCAL NEWS by George Vineh Yawson - January 24, 2022November 12, 20240 A sixty-five-year-old man, Wisdom Badasu is currently in the custody of the Ho District Police command assisting in investigations into offence of illegal possession of firearm, cruelty to animal and causing harm. Police say he will appear before court as soon as the investigation is done. On Wednesday, January 19, 2022, some Fulani herdsmen went grazing with their cattle at Agbakorpe near Ho. While grazing, they heard a gunshot and later detected that one of their cattle had been shot dead. An initial search for the assailant by the herdsmen in the bushes proved futile. One Arrested For Attempted Motorbike Robbery At Agorve Near Akatsi LOCAL NEWS by George Vineh Yawson - January 21, 2022November 12, 20240 The Volta Regional Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old Eyram Botwe, alleged to have attempted robbing a Haujue motorbike from a commercial rider at Agorve near Akatsi in the region. Eyram Botwe is currently in police custody assisting the Akatsi District Police in their investigations. Eyram Botwe was arrested on Wednesday January 19, 2022 by members of Agorve community after he sprayed pepper-powder into the eyes of a commercial motor rider, causing both the suspect (pillion) and the rider to fall to the ground.
