The African University of Communication and Business has inaugurated an eleven-member Governing Council with a charge to add value to the institution which received a presidential charter this year.
Speaking to the council members, Founder of the University, Hon. Kojo Yankah expected the council to take full of advantage of the university’s new status in making it more competitive.
The African University of Communications and Business (AUCB) was established as the Africa Institute of Journalism and Communications (AIJC), in 2002 by Kojo Acquah Yankah.
Initially offering a Diploma in Communication Studies, it gained accreditation as a tertiary institution in 2004.

In 2007, AIJC received approval to offer BA degrees, transforming into AUCC, the first university college in Africa specializing in Journalism and Communication Studies.
By 2010, it expanded to include BSc programs in Business Administration. The university started its postgraduate program in in 2018.
With its continued growth and recent transition to an autonomous university, AUCB remains committed to academic excellence.
In a bid to boost competition in an ever-evolving world, the higher institution of learning has inaugurated an eleven-member Governing Council chaired by Professor Pashington Obeng.
In his acceptance speech, Chairman of the Governing Council Prof. Pashington Obeng promised that the council will live up to the expectation of the university.
The Council are to meet twice for the next four years.
