The newly invested Chancellor of the African University of Communications and Business, AUCB, Mr. Frank Adu Junior has outlined a five-point mission aimed at transforming the institution from a conventional academic centre into a university producing graduates equipped for the demands of the global job market.
The historic ceremony took place on Friday September 18, 2026, bringing together members of the university community, distinguished guests, academics, students and other stakeholders
Speaking at his investiture ceremony, the new Chancellor, Mr. Adu said the university must go beyond academic qualifications and focus on developing graduates with the practical skills, innovation and competencies required to compete both locally and internationally.

He said his vision is anchored on five key priorities, including strengthening academic excellence, promoting practical and industry-oriented education, encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship, deepening partnerships with industry, and equipping students with skills relevant to the changing global economy.
The Chancellor stressed that universities must respond to the rapid transformation in technology and the world of work by preparing students not only to seek employment but also to create opportunities for themselves and others.
He said AUCB’s programmes must therefore be aligned with industry needs while providing students with the exposure and practical experience required to succeed beyond the classroom.

The investiture marks the beginning of a new chapter for the university, with the Chancellor pledging to work with management, faculty, students and stakeholders to translate the vision into tangible results.
The new Chancellor further called for stronger collaboration between the university, industry and other stakeholders to ensure that graduates leave the institution ready to contribute meaningfully to national development and compete in the global marketplace.
He expressed confidence that the five-point mission will help reposition AUCB as a leading institution for producing innovative, skilled and globally competitive graduates.
The investiture of the first Chancellor represents a significant chapter in the history of the African University of Communication and Business and underscores the institution’s aspirations for continued growth and academic excellence.
