Drivers at Tema Station concerned over emergence of new variant

Some members of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union at Tema station, have expressed concerns over the negligence of passengers in adhering to COVID-19 protocols amidst the discovery of the new Omicron Variant.

According to them, this attitude by passengers, may be due to the low level of education on COVID-19 by government.

Some drivers disclosed their ignorance about the new variant to Pan African TV News and advised that government should sensitize the public not only in English, but other dialects, on the dangers of the Omicron variant especially in this festive season.

The Omicron Variant was first detected in Ghana on November 21, 2021 in a Nigerian traveller. The total number of cases has since risen to forty-one.
