ELECTORAL COMMISSION RESPONSE TO ALLEGATIONS OF FRAUD

The Electoral Commission of Ghana has called on former President John Dramani Mahama to provide evidence of claims that about one million ballots were stuffed into boxes among other matters to place across the country during the December 7, 2020 elections.

Former President Mahama in his recent thank you tour in the Bono region accused the EC of conniving with the military to influence the declaration of results other related matters during the 2020 general elections.

According to the commission, the claim includes Mr. Mahama indicating that the elections management body had thumb printed one million ballot papers to favor President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the presidential elections.

In a presser yesterday, the Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bossman Asare says the statement by the Former President, who was the Presidential Candidate of the NDC in the are untrue and called for police investigations.

Deputy Communication Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Comrade Ako Gunn on news break with also re-echoed Former President Mahama’s allegations saying the EC has no bases in their statements.
