GPCC holds closed-door meeting with former President John Mahama

A high-powered delegation from the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council paid a courtesy call on former President John Mahama earlier today and deliberated with him on a wide of range of issues concerning the country’s forward march.

Speaking to the media after the closed-door meeting, National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu Ampofo disclosed that his leader and the party are opened for any dialogue pertaining to Ghana’s interest.

He further indicated that, the party’s position on the contentious and much talked about E-Levy still stands.

“From all indications, as far as we are concern the position of NDC and our minority in parliament on e-levy still remains unchanged”.

Meanwhile Ranking Member on the Finance Committee of Parliament, Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson has hinted that aside the controversial passage of the E-levy, Ghana’s cocoa sector is currently grappling with crisis which if left unattended could severely affect the cultivation and utilization of the cash crop.
